In today’s lesson, I want to reflect on a very important aspect or correction within a Reiki treatment, and that is the need for openness. Openness is not just physical, where you show up somewhere or say, “Here I am, I’m ready,” but it is also emotional and, what many don’t consider, even spiritual.
When we open ourselves to receive something, including energy, we essentially open the door to whatever we have welcomed. In the realm of receiving Reiki treatments, such openness invites the healing that Reiki brings.
This is taught even in the very early stages of learning Reiki. Understanding this concept enables you to have or not to have.
We must know that belief is not a prerequisite for receiving Reiki energy. Plants and animals very successfully and with palpable results receive Reiki treatments, even though they do not operate under the concept of belief. Perhaps a little trust can help, but the most important thing is simply to be open.
When we are open, we allow the (Reiki) energy to circulate through us and bring about desired and positive changes. However, we are all human, and we all have good days and bad days—and that is perfectly normal.
There are moments when we feel more ready to receive, and there are days or situations when we might be a bit more closed off. It is good to recognize this and not feel guilty or bad about it.
In fact, every one of those days can be (and is) a lesson for us—about ourselves or about the phase we are in. In this way, we can get to know ourselves better and understand why certain things are happening to us. By noticing such patterns, we can further adjust ourselves toward a more correct approach.
Every time we face challenges or feel less open, it can become an opportunity for self-reflection. Ask yourself what those moments reveal about your emotions, fears, fantasies, or desires. With time, you’ll learn to recognize these patterns and make them part of your journey.
In conclusion, I repeat: Openness is the key to receiving Reiki healing and Reiki energy. Embrace every moment, whether positive or challenging, as an opportunity for growth and your own development.
In this process, you will learn to value yourself deeply—not only as a teacher but also as an active participant in this experience we call life. Without the need for burdens and challenges to be constant companions.
With love,
